- How old do I have to be to hire a sports car from South West Sports Cars?
- You have to be aged between 25 and 70 years (inclusive) at the time of hire
- Do I need a special licence?
- No you don't, you only need to hold a full current UK/EU driving licence for a minimum of 5 years, with a maximum of 6 points. Any additional endorsements or accident history will need checking by our Insurers
- Can I bring a friend or partner along to drive too?
- Yes you can; as long as they meet the age and licence requirements you can add another named driver at a nominal cost of £15 per day
- Do I need special insurance?
- No, included in the price we provide fully comprehensive cover for the duration of the hire period, subject to compliance with our Terms & Conditions
- Do I have to pick the car up myself?
- No, we can usually deliver the car to you at any reasonable location you specify for a charge of around £1.50 per mile and pick up afterwards at a pre-agreed location
- Is there a limit to how far I can drive the car?
- No, subject to reasonable use and as long as you stay in the UK (unless pre-agreed otherwise)
- Can I take the car on a track day?
- No, you may only use the car for business, social, domestic and pleasure purposes for which the vehicle was designed. Further, you may not use the car for any form of motorsport including racing, rallying, testing the car's reliability or speed, pace-making or teaching someone else to drive
- What time can I pick up or drop off the car?
- Hire periods are normally from 09.00 on the first day of hire to 19.00 hrs on the last. Please ask when booking if you wish us to accomodate different times
- How do I make a booking?
- Either call us on the number at the top of the page, email us (info (at) southwestsportscars.co.uk) or fill in the Enquiry Form on the menu at the top of the page
- When will I have to pay the full amount?
- Usually full payment is required at the time of booking by credit or debit card. If you are booking over 6 months in advance then we will accept a £100 deposit to secure your dates
- Do the prices include VAT?
- There is no VAT to pay on the listed prices
- What happens if I have to cancel my booking?
- Let us know as soon as you can. If you give us more than 30 days notice before hire was due to commence we will refund the full payment, between 15 and 29 days we will refund the full payment less £50 admin fee and if you cancel within 14 days you will forfeit the full amount
- What will I need to bring on the day of hire?
- You will need your driving licence with counterpart (paper document), and two additional forms of ID which could be a passport or recent utility bill/bank statement and your credit card for pre-authorisation to cover the security deposit
- What happens if the car breaks down while on hire?
- Our cars are covered by AA roadside assistance and relay. We will endeavour to assist our customers with ongoing arrangements appropriate to the circumstances
