Our TVRWe do not have a TVR Sagaris to hire at present. As an alternative you may like to try our Tuscan. Both have TVR's own Speed 6 engine and outlandish styling. Therefore the experience is not dissimilar and at least you can take the roof off the Tuscan.... We hope to add a Sagaris to our fleet at some time in the future, so please bookmark us and re-visit or take a look at our other cars whilst you are here. |

TVR Sagaris Driving ExperienceIn many ways the Sagaris resembles a T350, with it's coupe shape and Speed 6 engine. However, the car was actually based more on the Tuscan S and was designed to excel on both the road and the track. As a result, the car includes a number of features you would associate with a racing car, including the perspex 'Gurney flap' on the rear wing which increases down force for improved cornering speeds and a front splitter to add 'ground effect'. On start up the Speed 6 is initially a little lumpy until it gets up to temperature when it becomes a smooth revving power house. Being a comparatively lightweight car, acceleration is pretty rapid and it is easy to spin up the big 18" spiders with no traction control. What does soon become apparent when on the move is that the Sagaris is very capable around corners, with much better handing than, say, the Tuscan. Despite the 'track day' stiffness of the suspension it feels pretty planted on most reasonable road surfaces. The Sagaris probably is the ultimate TVR, which coupled with their rarity is keeping values justifiably high. |

TVR Sagaris HistoryThe Sagaris was first shown to the public at the British Motor Show event in December 2003. TVR wanted their new model to appeal to the growing number of people who wanted a car that they could take to the track as well as enjoy on the road. In this regard the Sagaris was the 'new' Tuscan Racer which had been competitively raced in its own one-make series, the TVR Tuscan Challenge, since its inception in 1989 (although no road car was made by the factory). Production of the Sagaris was delayed when Peter Wheeler sold the business mid 2004 to Nikolai Smolenski. The new Russian owner then embarked on a process of quality improvement which saw the Sagaris further refined until it was released to customers in early 2005.
The Sagaris certainly took TVR to new levels of build quality and handing and remained in production until TVR closed down in 2007. The factory had produced just 240 of these wonderful cars. |
